I was privileged to be one of the first tourists to fish at the Ballyhass Lakes in June 2000. Two superb lakes stocked with Rainbow Trout as big as Salmon. The lakes have deep clear water and are fed by springs through limestone rocks. There is a plentiful supply of natural feed that helps to produce healthy, active trout.

The lakes have been stock for over five years, but have only been fished lightly.
There are some very big Rainbow Trout in these lakes along with some Brown Trout.
The main lake is fly only, while the upper lake is for spinning and fly.
